
Geoff Aaroe has been involved with youth for more than 33 years. He originally worked with Campus Life through high school in Brisbane. This work involved running youth clubs, camps and weekend events. Today, Geoff is still involved in the running of camps and weekend events. He is also involved in volunteer staff training, fundraising, committee meetings, tours and working with disabled persons. He is a trained Assistant In Nursing and is a Community Worker with Cert 4 qualifications
Geoff Works on a voluntary basis and receives no financial reward for his services.
Focus on Youth presently operates tours, camps, weekend events, fundraising and special needs activities for person with disabilities of a low risk nature, together with a volunteer program, First Aid/CPR Training, Resuscitation courses in Oxygen and Staff Training in the Focus on Youth Program.
We have our own 22-seater bus with air con and seat belts fitted. We also own canoes, kayaks, safety equipment, sports gear, camping equipments and a fundraising and camping trailer with BBQ and fridge freezer fitted.
Tours are held every year to places such as lady Elliott Island, a cattle property at Biloela, Fraser Island, Cairns, Carnarvon Gorge, Rockhampton and many more. All tours are held during the September school holidays and are advertised in April.
Camps are held every 3 months in such places as Allawah Canoe Camp, Twin Bridges Outdoor Farm Camp, Gold Coast Tellebudgera Camp, Tamborine Mountains Camp and a horse riding camp at Cleveland.
Weekend events are held once a fortnight and can include trips to theme parks, mystery tours, Gold and North Coast outings, etc.
Fundraising is held once a month at the Good Guys in Oxley. Volunteers are always needed with lunch and a drink supplied.

Membership: $30.00 p.a.
Additional family member: $20.00 p.a.
